Shortshop Stephen Drew Suffered a Serious Ankle Injury During an Arizona Diamondbacks game on July 20, 2011

Shortstop Stephen Drew suffered a nasty injury during the Arizona Diamondback vs Milwaukee Brewers game on Wednesday, July 20, 2011.

The Stephen Drew ankle injury occurred in the bottom of the 4th inning. Teammate Chris Young hit a double and Drew tried scoring from second base. He slid awkwardly into Brewers catcher Jonathan Lucroy's shins causing Drew's ankle twisted in a way that nature never intended.

After the Stephen Drew injury, it was announced that he suffered a broken ankle and will miss the rest of the 2011 MLB season.
