If you are wondering if Lebron James really tested positive for steroid use, wonder no more. Lebron James did not test positive for steroids. The source of the buzz is Steven Lebron, a catcher with the Cleveland Indians' Dominican Summer League minor league team.
Steven Lebron got a 50-game suspension. Steven Lebron's steroid suspension will begin in May, when the 2010 Dominican Summer League season starts. Lebron's team, the DSL Indians, plays in the Boca Chica South division.
Dominican Summer League Baseball
The Dominican Summer League is a branch of Minor League Baseball that is played in the Dominican Republic. The DSL has a 72-game season leading up to the playoffs.
Steven Lebron tested positive for Boldenone metabolite. Boldenone is an anabolic steroid used for horses, sold under the brand names Equipoise, Ganabol, Equigan and Ultragan. Designed to facilitate sustainable muscle growth, Boldenone was not meant for humans.
Also testing positive were DSL Mets' minor leaguer Melvin Colon and DSL Yankees' minor league players Josue Rogriguez and Israel Tolentino. They also received 50-game suspensions.
Lebron, a member of the Indians Dominican Summer League team, was signed in January. His contract was voided at no cost to the Indians.
