Jakarta (ANTARA News) - A racer from the Indonesia Rally Team (IRT), Subhan Aksa, managed to reach the 13th position at the Production World Rally Championship (P-WRC) held in Sweden on Saturday.
On Friday, he was on the 15th position after completing five special stages competed at the event, which was among others attended by several top European racers, including Jussi Tiipana (winner of junior Finland Rally), Fabio Frasiero of Italy and Evgeny Aksakov of Russia.
"On the second day of the event, Subhan managed to improve his position," IRT manager Mago Sarwono said in his electronic mail sent to ANTARA on Sunday.
"The team wants Subhan to maintain his position. However, observing the existing opportunity, we suggest that he increase his speed but also ask him to be careful due to the bad terrain," he added.
With a total time of 2 hours, 25 minutes and 0 second, Subhan is now on the 13th position or 28 seconds later than Fabio Frasieri who is on the 12th position and 0,6 seconds faster than Jussi Tiipana who is in the 14th position.
"It will be difficult for Subhan to catch up with Nasser Al-Attiyah who is on the 10th position, but we will try to make Subhan move to the 12th position," he added. (*) END
