The Mats Sundin Story could finally be hitting the ice.  After a 9 month stay away from the game of hockey, one of the most sought after free agents of 2008 will likely play for his new team in a game tonight in Edmonton.  Its a game day/time decision but the fact that he took the trip to Edmonton speaks volumes about his readiness.  Why else would anyone go to Northern Alberta except to work?  Ok, don't answer that cheap shot but in today's professional sports world, the players are ready to play the moment they arrive at training camp.  With that in mind, after about a week with the team Sundin should be more than ready to go for game time.  Historically he's kept himself in great shape and we see no difference this time around either.  Now we can finally say "Bring on the Sundin show"! Get your popcorn!

Sundin's debut line:

0 points, 0 shots, 24 shifts, 15 minutes TOI

massive?  well so much for the first goal in the first game.

He did look a little rusty so lets give it some time.  At least he wasn't injured!
