For many, the Super Bowl is really about food, snacks, munchies, call them what you will Super Bowl Food is as important as the Super Bowl.


This year Super Bowl sandwiches could be on your menu, your meal ticket for satisfying your guests while they watch Colts and the Saints go head-to-head. The reason sandwiches for Super Bowl 44? Well, a general rule of thumb is to serve food that is unique to the cities that are vying for the Super Bowl. With the New Orleans Saints that is easy - the creole cuisine from Louisiana is offers an amazing array of food choices for the Super Bowl - the most iconic being the Po Boy sandwich.

The Po Boy sandwich is a type of submarine sandwich with French bread - a bread unique to the humid New Orleans with a crunchy crust and light airy center.
The Indianapolis Colts are a different story - sorry Hoosiers - but cuisine is not your forte with the exception of the Pork Tenderloin sandwich. Apparently, Indiana is the birthplace of the beloved breaded pork tenderloin sandwich. So popular is the sandwich that it became the subject of an adoring 1998 documentary.
