"The Supreme Court on Monday declined to revive a lawsuit on behalf of Native American activists who claimed that the Washington Redskins' team name is so offensive that it does not deserve trademark protection.

The court without comment refused to get involved in the long-running dispute. The decision essentially lets stand a lower court ruling that the activists waited too long to bring the challenge.

The team has been known as the Redskins since 1933, when the name was changed from the Boston Braves. It became the Washington Redskins in 1937, when the team moved south.”

Scalp’m Should be the New Name for the Washington Team

That’s what Redskin owner Dan Snyder does every weekend as he fields a team that he has unmercifully mangled. Oh sure, they beat the Denver Bronco’s this past weekend, a beat up team that has been on the downslide.

What else could they call the team beside Redskins? Beltway Bombers, Taxpayer Rippers, Snyder Snickers, Horses Asses, Zornites, I don’t know.

Logo is not offensive, in my opinion. I think the Redskins name and logo have a long history, based on the facts of the team's history described above.  Oh..."Scalp'em" would be very un-PC!

I believe that scalping was first introduced to America by the British.
