However, today’s encounter is crucial for Zimbabwe, who lost their opener against Sri Lanka by 82 runs. 

A defeat here will script elimination for Zimbabwe from the ICC T20 World Cup. Though, it will be a daunting task for African country to defeat neighbour. 

On the other hand, Proteas are seeking impressive start to their World T20 campaign. South Africa, who are one of the favourites for October 7 World T20 final, is expecting an easy sailing in this game.

Under the coaching of Gary Kirsten, South Africans are looking determined to break the jinx of failures in major tournaments.

South Africa always start big tournament as biggest favourites but end up miserably. Being a top team in all three formats, Proteas are looking to change the fate in the ICC T20 world Cup 2012.

Team Combination:

South Africa will open with Jacques Kallis and Richard levi. It is expected that spinners Johan Botha and Robin Peterson will be included in the side. In pace department, suspense continues over Albie Morkel, who suffered lower back spasms in the warm-up match against New Zealand. In case of doubt over his fitness, Wayne Parnell may take his place in the playing XI. Dayle Steyn is expected to lead the pace attack along with Jacques kallis, Albie Morkel/Wayne Parnell.

In the middle order, skipper AB de Villiers, Hashim Amla and JP Duminy will shoulder the responsibility of batting.

For Zimbabwe, spinner Ray Price may get chance after pacers failed to performed against Sri Lanka in the opening match.
