Tajh Boyd Commits To Clemson at Press Conference
High school football star Tajh Boyd announced at press conference today that he plans to attend Clemson University.
The star quarterback for Phoebus High School in Hampton, VA, decided on Clemson after making two verbal commitments to two other colleges. Boyd verbally declared that he would go to the University of West Virginia, but quickly backed out of the deal. He then said he would attend Tennessee, but once again backed out after the school changed coaches.
After all the hemming and hawing, the Tajh Boyd announcement came as a relief to Clemson fans.
“At first I didn’t think I was going to consider Clemson,” he said. “Then I got a chance to learn more about the coaches and what type of team they’re going to have and how they are going to involve me in the offense.”
“It’s been tough saying no to those other schools because those two schools are so great,” he said. “I’m just glad that I was able to choose the school that I wanted to go to.”
Tajh Boyd was widely considered the top high school quarterback prospect in the country. The 6'1", 210-pound quarteback was the MVP of the US Army All-American Bowl. Boyd will be undergoing knee surgery this week and plans to spend much of the year in rehab.
