The Tampa Bay Rays have new throwback jerseys. Do the new throwbacks harken back to the days of 1998 when the team was founded? No. It goes back to the 70s, when the team didn't even exist. Confused? So are we.

On June 20, 2012, the Tampa Rays unveiled new 70s-style uniforms for an upcomng Turn Back the Clock Night. Since the team didn't exist back in the 70s, they decided to get creative and create a 70s-style uniform that looks like it might have been worn back in the day.

The Tampa Bay Rays throwback uniforms feature two shades of blue and yellow number. They sort of look like the San Diego Padres uniforms from the 70s.
