Tendulkar Wows the World With Epic Ton
The Little Master Sachin Tendulkar put the England to the sword with an epic 100 that also brought hope to an Indian nation recovering from terrorist attacks.
If ever anyone doubted the power of sport in bringing people together then Tendulkar's performance should dispel such doubts.
It was a great game of cricket with England and India defying terrorism to put on this show of wonderful sport.
Earlier report on the game here.
His jaw juts defiantly and his voice almost quivers with emotion as Sachin Tendulkar addresses the Indian people with a statesmanlike message that has been shown incessantly here on television between overs of the first Test.
'We will emerge stronger for the bad times, ' Tendulkar promises his people. 'Now, more than ever, I play for India.'
It has been a powerful advertisement for the merits of this series continuing in the shadow of tragedy in Mumbai but not nearly as powerful, not nearly as eloquent and not nearly as perfect as his utterly brilliant, match-winning and history-making century here yesterday.
