Thierry Henry Joins New York Red Bulls: MLS Football Gets Star
Thierry Henry To Play Major League Soccer In North America After FIFA World Cup
Thierry Henry, the super star soccer/football player from France has apparently signed with MLS' New York Red Bulls the New York Daily News is reporting.
Henry, who reportedly has been allowed by Barcelona to negotiate his way out of his contract with the Spanish La Liga club, is expected to join the MLS club as a designated player and will play next to team captain Juan Pablo Angel up front, sources said.
Thierry Henry, 32, is considered one of the world's top strikers. He will help power France during FiFA's World Cup of Soccer in South African in June.Henry currently plays for Spanish powerhouse Barcelona but his most productive time was as a striker with Arsenal where he scored over 200 goals in the English Premier League. Thierry Henry has expressed a desire to live in New York after his European soccer days.
The record of European soccer players in North America is a mixed one. The elite players grab the headlines but rarely help their teams win, case in point, David Beckham, was a high profile injury riddled bust for Los Angeles

Beckham was not a bust...He led LA to the finals last season. The league is much better than when he started. If it wasnt for Beckham, there wouldnt be talk of Henry coming.
