Update 24-08: Canada added some medals, three silver and one bronze. Canada is now at place nineteen in the Medal Tally.

Update 21-08: Canada took third gold by Eric Lamaze of Canada, riding HICKSTEAD. He won the individual jumping gold metal, holding off a strong challenge from Rolf-Goran Bengtsson of Sweden and his horse NINJA in the last Equestrian event of the Beijing Olympic Games at the Shatin Equestrian Venue Thursday night.

Update 20-08: Canada took another silver medal by Simon Whitfield. So now Canada is on 2 gold, 6 silver and 5 bronze medals. Still at the 17th place in the Medal Tally

Update: Canada is going better and better. After the first gold medal there is a second gold, three silver and four bronze medals so far. Canada is at the 17th place in the Medal Tally

Canada won the men's Eights gold at the Beijing Olympics on Sunday, clocking by 5:32.72 in the final,edging the US into silver, while the bronze was taken by Britain.

It happened actually some moments ago. Nobody expected a gold medal in wrestling for Canada, but Carol Huynh did it. Finally Canada is on the Medal Tally.

It is getting better and better for Canada:

The medal haul continued in women's wrestling as Tonya Verbeek of Beamsville, Ont., won a bronze medal in the 55 kg weight class. Source

Not to be outdone, the Canadian rowing team of Scott Frandsen and Dave Calder rowed to a silver medal in the men's pair competition. Source
