Well that didn't take long. Tiger Woods had barely been released from hospital after a serious car accident when jokes started circulating on in the internet about the Tiger Woods accident. Perhaps it's just a sign of the times--or a sign of the fact that Tiger Woods car accident turned out to be not too serious--but jokes and innuendos are being made about the Tiger Woods car accident.

Some Tiger Woods jokes were pretty basic (one popular one: Perhaps Tiger should have used a driver) Many jokes and comments, however, focused on rumors of Tiger Woods' alleged affair with Rachel Uchitel.

So who is Rachel Uchitel? It turns out she is a 34 year-old New Yorker with a history of dating married celebrities after she lost her fiancĂ©e in the September 11 terrorist attacks.

FOX Sports and Kansas City Star columnist Jason Whitlock was the first media figure to connect the Tiger Woods car accident with the Tiger Woods-Rachel Uchitel affair story.

Based on Natl Enquirer story, do we suspect Pussy Galore played a role in Tiger's 2 a.m. dash from the crib?

It could be argued that Jason Whitlock should be commended for, as Deadspin put it, saying what we've all been thinking. At the same time, there are precious few facts available about the Tiger Woods car accident and Tiger Woods affair and it's not exactly fair to connect the two in any real way.

Jason Whitlock, however, defended himself by simply saying:

hey, ray, you may not have heard. but i don't do politically correct. take it somewhere else.

UPDATE: It appears that Jason Whitlock may have had a point. TMZ has reported that the Tiger Woods accident occurred after an argument with wife Elin Nordegren, presumably over the rumored Tiger Woods-Rachel Uchitel affair. TMZ later posted a Tiger Woods injury update, which stated that Woods' injuries were caused by Nordegren not the car accident.
