The Florida Highway Patrol is reporting that Tiger Woods was seriously injured in a car accident in Florida. Early reports indicate that Tiger Woods was driving out of his driveway at 2:25 Friday morning when his 2009 Cadillac Escalade hit a fire hydrant and tree. Authorities said that charges are pending but alcohol was not a factor in the Tiger Woods car accident.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, Woods was sent to Health Central Hospital in Ocoee and is in serious condition. Orlando's WESH 2 reports that Tiger Woods was treated for face lacerations.

CNBC reporter Darren Rovell says that the Tiger Woods car crash may not be as serious as first thought.

BNO News is reporting that Tiger Woods has already been released from hospital. Gray Bruhn, the mayor of Windermere, FL, confirmed that Tiger Woods has been released from hospital.

The last GM car I drove was a brand new rental and the window winder came off in my hand in the first 10 minutes. Brave of Tiger to risk life and limb climbing into a Cadillac...

I wonder what speed he was going at?

He was pulling out of his driveway and the airbags did not deploy, so the speed is being estimated at under 33mph. Though wearing/not-wearing a seatbelt may have been a crucial factor.

Woods spokesman Glenn Greenspan told The Associated Press that the golfer was treated at the hospital and released in good condition.

A local Florida mayor told CNN that Woods suffered facial lacerations.

The hospital declined comment.
