Tiger Woods's Train Wreck, Part 1 (2009 British Open, Round 2)

Tiger Woods is out of the British Open 2009 Competition. For only the second time in his career he has missed the cut and will go home empty handed.

He was the favorite and he shot a 74 and seemed to be hoping for some kind of miracle, but after his birdie on the 7th he played six holes seven-over-par.

He did finish the round, but with just three holes left, he knew he had to birdi the last three holes.

Sure enough, the game face was on and he was able to putt for birdie on the 16th and two putt for birdie on the 17th. With his chance to make the cut with a birdie on 18, Tiger just couldn’t make it. “I hit some bad tee shots, a couple of bad iron shots, didn’t get it up and down,” Woods said. “I kept making mistake after mistake.”

Unfortunately for the Tiger hopefuls everywhere Tiger did not reach his goal, but many believe he will come back with a vengeance. “Unfortunately, it just didn’t happen,” Woods said. “No doubt I’m frustrated. I was playing well the first seven holes, right there in the championship. I felt like if I was under par for the tournament, I would be in the top 10. I didn’t do that. I went the other way.”

I am sure he will come back with vengeance.

I think with him winning all the time..makes golf more boring....No one wants to play or watch because we already know who will win. Kinda weird...but true...

I agree with djermano, when tiger is on, everyone else is just playing to see who will come in second.
