He is now seven shots behind Lee Westwood.

Westwood improved to 12-under with birdies at the first, fourth, eighth and 10th holes to open the biggest lead so far at the season’s opening major tournament. Mickelson made eagle at the par-5 13th and holed out from 139 yards at the next for another eagle to reach 11-under.
