Tim Howard Scores Epic Pitch-Length Goal

Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard amazed fans and humiliated Bolton goalkeeper Adam Bogdan with an amazing end-to-end goal in the 62nd minute.

After seeing that his shot went in, Howard turned and walked slowly back towards his own goal, the soccer equivalent of walking away from an explosion in slow motion.

How Long was Tim Howard's Goal-Scoring Kick?

Everton's home turf is Goodison Park, which has a 112-yard pitch. The Telegraph has Tim Howard's kick at 80 yards, but the ball definitely traveled further than that: Howard was still inside the 18-yard box when he kicked.

(Football pitches are not laid out to a standard size: they can vary in length by as much as 30 yards, and in width by as much as 50 yards.)

Despite Howard's goal, Bolton beat Everton 2-1, with an equalizer from David Ngog and the winning goal from David Cahill.
