Tim McClelland Yankees-Angels Video: Ump Blows Calls at 2009 ALCS
Major League umpire Tim McClelland has come under fire for some of the calls he made Game 4 of the ALCS between the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. McLelland admitted that he missed two calls during the Yankees-Angels series, including a double-play call that he missed.
Tim McClelland said that he should have called a double play when Robinson Cano and Jorge Posada were both caught stranded off third base. Instead, McClelland only called Posada out. McClelland claimed that Cano was touching third base when he was tagged.
Another questionable Tim McClelland call came when he called out Yankee Nick Swisher for not tagging up before running home on a sacrifice fly. Replays indicate that Swisher did, in fact, have his foot on third base as the outfield caught the sacrifice fly and safely made it home.
Here is the Tim McClelland Yankees-Angel ALCS video.
