The Tour of Ireland, a three-day ride from Dublin to Cork, will be Lance Armstrong's last race of the year, and his last ride with Team Astana before he forms Team RadioShack.

TheTour of Ireland 2009 is is Lance Armstrong's first professional race in Ireland since 1992.

The 576km/358 mile race is considered "short" if your driver's license says "Armstrong, Lance".

The Tour of Ireland covers 576km in three stages and ends in Cork on Sunday.

"It's not a very hard race and so it's a good way for him to bow out," added Bruyneel.

Russell Downing (CandiTV) won the opening stage in Waterford. Armstrong finished in the main group 16 seconds behind.
