Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian Uber Cup team swept clean their Dutch opponents 5-0 after in the last match to decide the winner of Group Z, Indonesia`s third singles Pia Zebadiah beat Holland`s third singles Yik Man Wong 21-13, 21-12 at the Senayan Sports Hall in Jakarta Monday night.
First singles Maria Kristin won against Rachel VanCutsen in straight sets 21-7, 21-14.
Doubles Jo Novita and Greysia Polii made another contribution to the Indonesian victory bringing the score to 2-0 after trouncing Eefje Muskeens and Ilse Vaessen 21-11, 21-18.
Indonesia`s victory over the Dutch team was sealed by Indonesia`s second singles Adriyanti Firdasari who beat Patty Stolzenbach 21-15, 21-14.
The 3-0 win was quite enough for the Indonesian girls promising them as champions of Group Z, and at the same time secured one place in the big eight round.
Doubles Liliyana Natsir and Vita Marissa increased the Indonesian victory to 4-0 after beating Paulien Van Dooremalen and Rachel Van Cutsen 21-11, 21-11, before Pia Zebadiah finally completed the victory with a score of 5-0. (*) end
