As we head into the 2011 All-Star break, what better way to celebrate the national pastime than with video of an umpire taking a baseball to the crotch.

During yesterday's Chicago Cubs-Pittsburgh Pirates game on July 10, 2011, home plate umpire John Hirschbeck took a wild pitch right in the groin.

With the Cubs' Alfonso Soriano at the plate, a Pirates pitcher threw the ball low and into the dirt. The catcher missed the ball and it bounced off the ground and straight into the umpire's groin.

The umpire, not surprisingly, crumpled to the ground like Hans Moleman.

Hirshbeck managed to shake off the baseball to the groin and finish the game.
