It was a sad night all over the world as the US Junior hockey team beat Canada 6-5 in overtime.

The Canadian juniors overcame a two-goal deficit late in the third period for the second time in five days against the U.S., but on this occasion the teenagers from south of the border bounced back in overtime.

Breaking what would have been a sixth consecutive win for Canada, the US will this year be taking home the World Cup and be sending Canada home with the Silver medal.

Congratulations to our southerly winners and to our Canadian boys on the Silver, the best of luck in the upcoming year.

Despite Canada's loss, this was an excellent game.  Eberle, and Edmonton Oiler prospect, again came through and tied the game after the US was leading with a score of 5-3, driving the game into overtime.  Goaltending was they key to  this game, where both teams were evenly matched.

The peformance of those young men, shows hat International Hockey can be exciting and falls in he face of some of the fighting policies of the NHL.

Thank you for your post.

OK, you are right. I may have been a tad bit broad with that statement but I am sure there were many Americans that were also very sad to see Canada loose...
