The Fort Dix International Basketball League at the Army and Air National Guard Headquaters in Fort Dix, NJ has a 12-team Intramural league for its troops.

The Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR) Programs on Fort Dix are here to provide quality of life services and activities for you and your family during your assignment at Fort Dix. MWR serves active duty military, retirees, DoD and NAF employees, Army and Air Force Exchange employees, and contract employees. (All employees are not eligible for all Family Support Programs).

Basketball like other sports in the US helps to rally a group of fans and that is also the case for our troops who are in the middle of a long and painful war. This is the meessage that is expressed by Fort Dix MWR www.dixmwr.com  and its Director, Sarah L. Johnson.

The league is in the first half of a 16-week schedule that will play games all the way til mid-May. The league has two 6-team divisions the Alpha Division and the Bravo Division. Each team will play their divion opponents twice and non-divisional opponents once. All games are played at Griffith Field House.

Alpha Division:

1-Beast

2-Dunkadelics

3-Red Legs

4-Renegades

5-Warriors

6-Wildcats

The "Dunkadelics" is a take on The "Dunkadelic-Era" In America, 1984-2009. The basketball and hip-hop culture fusion term created in 1997.

Bravo Division:

1-Dynasty

2-FCI

3-Ft. Monmouth

4-Navy

5-Retro

6-TLC

After the end of the 16-week regular season there will be an All-Star Game followed by the playoffs. Each head coach from each team will select 2-players from each team to represent their division. There will also be a league MVP selected.

President Barack Obama is a huge fan of basketball and his pressence at the All-Star Game and possibly making the center court toss to start the game would put a smile on the faces of many our service men and women. It would also say that he respects the "Big Dance" of the NCAA and also the "Little Big Dance" of his own military at Fort Dix.
