San Antonio Scorpions head out tonight as the last remaining Texas side in the US Open Cup against USL-PRO side, Charlotte Eagles.

After disposing of MLS opposition and fellow Texans, Houston Dynamo in the previous round, the Scorpions will be buoyant in the fact that they will be favourites to progress this Sweet 16 round, with the knowledge that Chivas USA from the MLS may await them if they win through against fellow NASL challengers Carolina Railhawks.
The Scorpions have yet to concede a goal in this competition in it's first ever outing and the players and coaching staff will hope that form continues tonight at Heroes Stadium against Charlotte.

Charlotte for their part had a tremendous result in the last round, with a 2-0 victory over another Texas MLS side, FC Dallas.

This result in itself shows the quality available to the Eagles but their current USL-PRO form would tell us otherwise. They are currently languishing in 8th spot in the division three league and with only 8 points from 11 matches played, their US Open form belies their USL form therefore giving us a match to look forward to.
