Golfer Lucas Glover won his first US Open on June 22. The win will no doubt boost Glover's profile in the golfing world. It will also boost his bank account. So what is the US Open Prize money? 

According to the PGA, the US Open Purse Payout is US $7.5 million. Glover took home $1.35 million. Second place finisher Phil Mickelson earned a cool $559, 830 as did David Duval and Ricky Barnes.

If you finished 50th in all 4 majors, you could still make a solid living, earning almost 100k. Not bad.

To concerned golfer:  it was rather nice not to have Tiger prancing around as the leader and then the winner.  In fact, I would have shut off the tv had Tiger been anywhere close to winning.  It is pleasant watching without Tiger glowering, spitting, swearing and showing his temper at every little mis-step.  Get lost Tiger!
