Usain Bolt 9.58 Video: Bolt Sets New 100m World Record

Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt smashed his own world record in the men's 100 meters in a time of 9.58 seconds at the world track and field championships in Berlin.

Usain Bolt led from beginning to end, smashing his record of 9.69 seconds which he set at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.

American Tyson Gay finished in second woth a time of 9.71 seconds at Olympic Stadium. Tyson Gay hasn't beaten Bolt since 2007. Jamaican Asafa Powell was third in a time of 9.84.

I hope Bolt keeps on pushing the boundaries of possible. It was quite thrilling to watch.

You have brought out a side of my that I never knew existed. For the first time in my life I take time out to sit and watch television, log on to track and field news, studying records, I can even tell my husband news on track and field. Congratulations to you and may you continue to show the world that everything is possible. You are blessed and deserve all the benefits of your hard work. Hell yes! This is the best time to be following sprint in what seems like decades. How far will he go? I still think he can go under 9.5. Which is insane - like running the mile in 3.5 minutes.
