At the Olympic Winter Games 2010 in Vancouver today the ladies' Super-G (super giant) slalom took place and the results and medals are as follows:

Gold medal - Andrea Fischbacher (Austria)

Silver medal - Tina Maze (Slovenia)

Bronze medal - Lindsay Vonn (United States)

This was Lindsay Vonn's second medal and the seventh alpine medal for the United States in Vancouver.

The previous United States record in that department had been five.

Canadians Britt Janyk came 17th, Georgia Simmerling came 27th and Emily Brydon did not finish.

It was an excellent race. Glad to see that the racer from Slovenia won a silver medal!  But there were many other excellent skiers competing!
