Vancouver 2010 Men's Figure Skating Free Skate: Twitter Coverage
At the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver tonight figure skating fans will be on the edge of their seats as the men's Figure Skating Free Skate takes place and this is a medal event.
At the end of the short program on Tuesday February 16th, the standing for the men's figure skaters top 10 are:
- Evgeni Plushenko - Russia
- Evan Lysacek - USA
- Daisuke Takahashi - Japan
- Nobunari Oda - Japan
- Stephane Lambiel - Switzerland
- Johnny Weir - USA
- Patrick Chan - Canada
- Takahiko Kozuka - Japan
- Michal Brezina - Czech Republic
- Denis Ten - Kazakhstan
Full list of standings for the mens' skaters after the short program.
Canadians are hoping that Patrick Chan will be on the podium after tonight and holding seventh place there is still a chance he could earn a medal for Canada.
Evgeni Plushenko from Russia is the one to beat however. If he wins tonight he will be the first man in over 50 years to become a repeat Olympic champion. For Plushenko, it's all about the quad jump. As he told reporters earlier in the week "without quadruples, sorry, but it's not men."
It will no doubt be interesting to see which male contestant attempts the quad jump tonight to try and fight for the Gold medal.
We will be following the progress via our scan tool below so check back often for updates and cheer for your favourite male skater to win tonight! (don't forget to refresh the page!)
