Americans Bode Miller and Andrew Weibrecht were dominating the Vancouver 2010 Men's Super-G, until Norway's Aksel Lund Svindal shot out of nowhere to claim the top spot.

  • Aksel Lund Svindal (NOR): Gold Medal
  • Bode Miller (USA): Silver Medal
  • Andrew Weibrecht (ISA): Bronze Medal

Today is the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Men's Super-G. The Super-G  is the super giant slalom, which, as the name suggests, is longer than the giant slalom course. Will this be Bode Miller's shot at gold? Or will Switzerland's Didier Defago top the podium once again?

Americans will be cheering on Bode Miller, Ted Ligety, Marco Sullivan, and Andrew Weibrecht. Canadians will support Manny Osborne-Paradis, Erik Guay, Robbie Dixon, and Jan Hudec. The conditions on the Dave Murray Downhill at Whistler are horrible, though. Some sections got a water injection, but that means some sections did not. This means variable conditions: icy to slushy to icy. The earlier you go in the event, the better off you are: the course won't be as tracked-out.

The Super-G consists of a single run per racer, best times get medals. No qualifiers, no semifinals: just all or nothing.

The Men's Super-G starts at 11:30am PST/2:30pm EST.
