Vancouver 2010 Olympics: Closing Ceremonies Start Time
The Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games closing ceremonies are tonight at 5:30 p.m. PST, signaling an end to a successful games by Canada. VANOC hopes the closing ceremonies end the tournament on a fun and exciting note.
The closing ceremonies performances have been kept secret, but there are a few candidates who are likely a sure thing.
Potential performers are:
- Michael Buble
- Nickelback
- Diana Krall
- Avril Lavigne
- Shania Twain
- Rush
It's been confirmed that Canadian favorites Celine Dion and Joni Mitchell won't be performing.
The closing ceremonies will have a lighter tone than those that opened the Games, and it sounds like there will be some self-deprecating humor involved.
Those who took issue with the sometimes stereotypical view of Canada presented at the opening – Mounties, mountains and maple leaves, oh my! – it sounds as though the closing could take a light-hearted approach to some of the same material.
"We will probably poke a bit of fun at ourselves, you will probably come away from the ceremonies knowing a bit more about us than you did if you're not from Canada, and we will probably bust a few Canadian myths," Furlong predicted.

You should be embarrassed, not because of the show, but because of your comments. I'm embarrassed that you consider yourself Canadian..... Its called national pride, get some

Shame on Vancouver and Canada ! Rush continues to be snubbed by the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame here in the U.S., and here was a chance for their home country to show them deserved respect, only to be snubbed by them also !

Ick, the closing was soo bad & stereotypical.Canada had a chance to show the world what it was really about & blew it.Mounties? Lumberjacks? MASSIVE moose & beavers? It was embarrassing
