But that's what appears to have happened after a recent Vanderbilt loss to Tennessee on Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011. The Vanderbilt mascot, known as "Mr. C" attacked a fan after the game. The Vanderbilt mascot punched a fan in the face. According to some reports, the fan ended up with a bloody nose.

Why Did the Vanderbilt Mascot Attack a Fan?

One fan wrote in to Deadspin and stated that the Vanderbilt mascot attack stemmed from an incident earlier in the game. The fan who was punched allegedly grabbed the Vanderbilt mascot's "junk."
