Veena Malik, Mohammad Asif's Ex-Girlfriend, Says He Confessed to Match-Fixing
Veena Malik, TV presenter and ex-girlfriend of Mohammad Asif, said that Asif admitted that the Pakistan cricket team was engaged in match-fixing. According to Veena Malik, Mohammad Asif told her that Pakistan planned to throw its three-test series against Australia in 2009.
The match-fixing scandal is mainly focused on Mohammad Asif, Mohammad Amir, Salman Butt, and Kamran Akmal.
"When Pakistan started losing in Australia, I jokingly said 'for God's sake, win a match.' To this, he replied 'we won't win anything until 2010'," she said.
She also claimed Asif made a sudden visit to bookmakers in Bangkok prior to leaving for Australia last December."When Pakistan started losing in Australia, I jokingly said 'for God's sake, win a match.' To this, he replied 'we won't win anything until 2010'," she said.

Pakistan great Imran Khan said yesterday, "If, God forbid, it turns out to be true then it will be the biggest setback for Pakistan cricket and, probably, end the careers of the two best bowlers in the world."
Mohammad Asif had previously been banned for a year due to steroid use.
