Belarusian Victoria Azarenka Collapses at US Open
Belarusian tennis player Victoria Azarenka collapsed 30 minutes into her match with Gisela Dulko. Victoria Azarenka, seeded at #10, was taken off the court in a wheelchair for medical attention. Azarenka's collapse was captured on video and is making the Youtube rounds. Ignore the mean music.

Victoria Azarenka will be eliminated from the tournament. Temperatures in New York during the 2010 US Open have exceeded 90F/32C, though at least one reporter (Jon Wertheim for Sports Illustrated) says that the heat may not have been a factor in Victoria Azarenka's collapse.

The early consensus in the press room seems to be that this was likely related to her fitness, and not exclusively a reflection of the heat out there.

Tournament officials are expected to give an update on Azarenka's condition.

Azarenka's agent said an hour after the match that she was taken to hospital.

Dulko said Azarenka was conscious and responsive when she walked over to make sure she was fine.
