The people want an empire, apparently, with that unassuming little black VW bug at the head of it.
The U.K.’s Guardian explains, "Volkswagen-Porsche has overtaken Toyota to become the world's largest car manufacturer as the German group benefits from state-backed stimulus packages around the globe." VW has "produced 4.4 million vehicles so far this year, outstripping its Japanese rival which has seen four million cars roll off production lines since January."

As far as I recall it, Porsche and VW did ask for a Government loan last year to expand and the German Government refused, why they ended up receiving an investment loan from the Middle East...

One of my cars is a VW, and if another car company made a small diesel car with good mileage I would seriously consider a purchase, but in the US you have no choice if you want a small diesel.. VW or a M Benze that costs way too much $$

LoL Hugh, the new bugs have nothing in common with the old air cooled bugs of the 70's
Front wheel drive & engine like most new cars. My only real complaint is that some of the interior stuff is not as rugged as US made stuff (power window controls, door light)
