An accident occurred prior to the San Diego Chargers-Denver Broncos Monday Night Football game. A member of the press box crew fell off a catwalk at San Diego's Qualcomm Stadium.

Walt Daniels, a game-day staff member, fell approximately 30 feet on the seats and concrete below. Emergency workers administered CPR and Daniels was sent to hospital. In a gruesome scene, stadium staff had to clean a large puddle of blood just two hours before game time.

People on the scene reported that Walt Daniels fell out of a coaches' box and sustained a serious head injury.

The press box was temporarily shut down before the media was ultimately let inside.

Indeed, it was a strange pre-game to the Chargers vs Broncos MNF game. Not long after the Walt Daniels accident, the Chargers and Broncos got into a pre-game fight.

UPDATE: Sadly, Walt Daniels passed away today. Daniels had worked for the Chargers for more than two decades.
