Wayne Rooney Scored a Hat Trick Against West Ham on April 2

This was Rooney's first hat trick in 14 months, Manchester United ended up beating West Ham 4-2. This keeps the team on course for a 19th Premier League title.

It was in the 79th minute that Rooney took a penalty kick after a handball by Matthew Upson, and then scored the fourth goal shortly after.

“We don't give up, no matter what the score,” Rooney said. “We were brilliant all over the park, but even when he haven't been playing well we have been grinding out results.”

Fans and the team will no doubt view this victory as a sign that a league title is still on the cards.
