Week 10 NFL Picks and Predictions 2009
Week 10 of the 2009 NFL season is upon us and there are some intriguing matchups in the week ahead. The Bengals-Steelers and, in particular, the Colts-Patriots could be beauties. On the other hand, there seems to be a bunch of games with point spreads that are out of whack. With so many teams playing either over or under their potential, it's impossible to guess what will happen in Week 9 of the NFL season.
Here are some early Week 10 NFL picks and predictions. Please keep in mind that the lines given are subject to change (here are updated NFL odds) Note: Home teams are in ALL CAPS.
SAN FRANCISCO -3 over Chicago Bears fans have to be reeling wondering where their season went. The Bears defense is a mess
Jacksonville over NY JETS -6.5 Things are getting chilly in NY and has Mark Sanchez proven that he can play in cold weather?
Denver -4 over WASHINGTON Oddsmakers just don't take the Broncos seriously. They're 6-2 and are only favored by four. The Redskins secondary has what it takes to jam up Kyle Orton and the Broncos.
Cincinnati over PITTSBURGH -7 Nobody thought the Bengals could beat the Ravens and they took care of business. They have the potential to do the same against Pittsburgh.
Buffalo over TENNESSEE -6.5 Sure, the Titans have won two in a row, but let's not forget that the Titans lost six in a row before that.
MINNESOTA-16.5 over Detroit Matt Stafford looked shaky against the Seahawks and the Lions can't do much on the road. Jared Allen will have a field day.
New Orleans over -13.5 ST. LOUIS Even while struggling, the Saints beat Carolina by double digits. Imagine what they can do against the Rams?
Atlanta -1.5 over CAROLINA Let's see, the way to beat Atlanta is to throw on them. Jake Delhomme can't throw the ball without it being intercepted. Plus Michael Turner is still a monster.
MIAMI -10 over Tampa Bay Sure, the Bucs have a one-game winning streak, but the Dolphins are still a better team.
Kansas City over OAKLAND -2 Do I have to pick one? Really, it's a turtle derby and hard to get too excited over either team. Maybe the Chiefs will get a bounce after cutting Larry Johnson loose.
ARIZONA -8.5 over Seattle Sure, the Seahawks have been lousy at home this season, but the Seahawks are running on fumes.
SAN DIEGO -2.5 over Philadelphia Oddsmakers see this as a close game and maybe it is. In that case, go with the Chargers simply because Andy Reid can't seem to manage the clock at the end of a game.
Dallas -3 over GREEN BAY The Packer offensive line is a mess. The Cowboys are rolling and should handily beat the Packers at home.
New England over INDIANAPOLIS -3 The Colts have had some close calls and may be due to lose a game. The Pats are healthy while the Colts secondary is struggling. This may be the time when Tom Brady really lights it up.
Monday Nov. 16
Baltimore -11 over CLEVELAND Monday Night Football has had plenty of good games this season. This won't be one of them. The Ravens will be ready to murder the Browns.
