Week 17 NFL Picks
Here are some Week 17 predictions. Please note that the NFL odds posted here are accurate at the time of posting, but may change.
Note: Home teams are in ALL CAPS
ATLANTA -14.5 over St. Louis Atlanta is still in the hunt for a division title. Don't think they'll let St. Louis get in the way.
BALTIMORE -12.5 over Jacksonville Same deal. The Ravens need to win to get into the playoffs. The Jaguars are just waiting to hit the golf course.
New England -6.5 over BUFFALO The Pats will need some help to get into the postseason. The Bills should provide some help by rolling over.
CINCINNATI -3 over Kansas City Both of these teams stink. Go with the Bengals since they're at home and their defense played well against Cleveland last week.
GREEN BAY (-10) over Detroit All eyes will be on Green Bay to see if history is made. The Lions are looking to avoid the dubious honor of being the first 0-16 team in NFL history. In order to that, they'll have to win on the Frozen Tundra of Lambeau Field, something they haven't done since 1991. The Lions had their best shot at winning last week and they crapped the bed. Don't expect them to pull off a miracle in Green Bay. Be sure to tune in Sunday to be a witness to history. Oh yeah, and don't forget to buy a t-shirt.
HOUSTON +3 over Chicago The Texans have surprised a lot of people this year. Don't be shocked if they pull one over on the Bears who are fighting for their lives.
INDIANAPOLIS +3 over Tennessee Tennessee has some nagging injuries and nothing to play for. The Colts are battling for playoff positioning. Add those two things together and you have to go with the Colts, even if the Titans are the better team.
MINNESOTA -6.5 over New York Giants Kinda like the Colts-Titans game. The Giants have home-field advantage wrapped throughout the playoffs. The Vikings need a win. Go with the Vikes.
Carolina -3 over NEW ORLEANS The Panthers want to win in order to wrap up a division title. If Carolina's secondary can handle Drew Brees--and that's a big if--the Panthers should be fine even if the Saints usually play well at home.
Miami (10-5) at New York Jets (9-6) (-2.5) One of the best games of the week as both teams play for a division title. The Dolphins D has played well. Still, this could be Brett Favre's last stand. Go with the Jets.
Dallas +1.5 over PHILADELPHIA Whoever loses this game will likely go through a major overhaul in the offseason. Actually, whoever wins this game will also go through a major overhaul this season. Go with the Cowboys, a team with a vaunted pass rush that should get into Donovan McNabb's kitchen.
PITTSBURGH -10.5 over Cleveland So long, Romeo. It's been fun. Just make sure that your players don't punch each other in the face. Is that too much to ask?
TAMPA BAY -13 over Oakland Don't think the Bucs will lose to the Raiders at home and with a playoff spot in the balance.
ARIZONA -6 over Seattle The Seahawks want to have Mike Holmgren leave on a high note. Of course, they've wanted to do a lot of things all season and have failed miserably.
DENVER -9 over San Diego Another big game with the winner taking the AFC West. Both teams have been wildly inconsistent all year, so who knows what will happen?
SAN FRANCISCO -3 over Washington Wasn't Jim Zorn supposed to be the best young coach in the NFL? Now it looks like it's Mike Singletary.
