According to Evra, Suarez called him a "nigger" at least "10 times.
Suarez has adamantly denied the accusation, writing on his Facebook page: "I'm upset by the acusations of racism. I can only say that I have always respected and respect everybody. We are all the same. I go to the field with the maximum illusion of a little child who enjoys what he does, not to create conflicts."
The Luis Suarez-Patrice Evra controversy pits two of the world's biggest football clubs in a game of he-said/he-said.
United coach Alex Ferguson has expressed support outrage at Suarez's alleged comments while Liverpool says they believe the Uruguayan international's claim that he did not use the "N"-word in reference to Evra.
A report in the Daily Mail notes that there doesn't appear to be any Luis Suarez video footage that backs Evra's claims. The Man U-Liverpool match was one of the biggest of the season and there would have been several cameras covering the game from every angle. If Suarez had used a racial slur, it likely would have been captured by cameras.
The paper also notes that the referee did not hear any racial insults. If he had, the offending player would have been issued a red card.
