What is wrong with FC Bayern Muenchen?
FC Bayern Muenchen has the worst Season start in 33 years.
After six games, in the new season, FC Bayern Muenchen has accumulated a measly 8 points and a goal deficit of -1. In contrast the newly promoted team Mainz 05 has won all of its six matches and ahas accumulated 18 points with a +9 goal difference.
First six games
After the first six games FC Bayern's statistics are not very impressive. After last Saturday's game their balance sheet stands at 2 wins, 2 ties and 2 losses. The team has scored 5 goals and opponents scored 6. 8 points is the balance of their efforts against Mainz's 18. Borussia Dortmund is behind Mainz with 15 points.
Last year’s German Champion, German Cup Winner and Champions League Finalist has underperformed. This is the worst season start in 33 years. In 1977-78 the team had also only scored five times.
The team is made up of superstars like Lahm, Schweinsteiger, Thomas Mueller, Van Buyten, Badstuber, Arjen Robben, Miroslav Klose and Mario Gomez and should have been all over these teams.
Initially the blame was laid on the World Cup, in which seven Bayern players participated, however after six games the team should be synchronized.
Karl Heinz Rummenigge, Executive Head of FC Bayern, has laid the blame squarely on the players. In an interview with bundesliga.de, he made it clear that the coach was not to blame but that the motivation of the team was lacking.
Particulary in the game against Mainz 05, a team newly promoted, showed the motivation and team spirit to be successful. They were the hungrier team. FC Bayern struggled and as a result recorded another loss.
FC Bayern has the ability to turn things around, but with ten points behind the league leader the turnaround has to happen soon.
It’s time for Mueller, Schweinsteiger, Lahm, Klose and Olic to pull up their socks and put the ball where it belongs, into the net.
