Brian Kennedy just sent me the link below, knowing I'm a bit of a motorcycle enthusiast... Actually, I have  a huge problem with this kind of riding: showing off on wide straightaways is a superb way to end up as a stain. When poser-boy is thinking "Laguna Seca Raceway", the cars around him are thinking "get to the grocery store" or "change CD" or "talk on the mobile while driving". There are other speed/stunting/hooliganism videos out there, too, which I'll naturally add to the story because I'm, well, me.

Gloucestershire Police are investigating a YouTube video which appears to show a Kawasaki ZX10R clocking up an impressive 189mph
I've ridden the ZX10R's little brother (Ninja 650R) and found it deceptively fast, with a frighteningly quick acceleration: it was all too easy to blow past cars on the freeway as if they were standing still... at 20% throttle (not twisting it all the way like in the movies): I had to exercise all the self-control I could muster! Point is, I'd never, ever ride like this in the street, since the crash potential is so much more heinous than on the track: if you blow it at 100+mph on the track, you sliiiiiiiide like a penguin in your ballistic suit and hope you don't get hit by another bike. On the street, though, you SMACK into a parked car or get done by the truck that's merging into your lane without seeing you. Please, all you peacocks out there, keep it in your pants and take it easy on the street. Don't end up in a wheelchair or on a slab, and stop giving motorcyclists a bad name. I know some of our contributors also ride- what do you think of this?

(The mad shakes in that video as the rider decelerates mean that he needs to learn that the clutch is the lever on the left... Oh, and anybody can ride fast in a straight line; centrifugal force at that speed will keep the bike upright even with no rider on it. Slow speeds and twisty roads/curves are the real tests of rider skill. Also, his lane positioning sucks.)

This is only a good way to commit a murder-suicide. SO stupid. This squid is posing, and should invest in a track day if he wants to show off. If I saw this guy on the highway, I'd pull over and get off my bike so that no one would associate me with him. My 695 can do this, but WON'T unless Cazzola, Rossi or Hopkins are on it, and on a track. I hope he's got a tattoo that identifies him.

Can the Ducati Monster 695 hit 189mph/304kph?! If so, you really, really shouldn't have told me that... Just kidding. I'd never. (Let the record show that Nicole is a responsible rider. She doesn't show off... because she doesn't have to!)
