NP Rank:
Who Will Sign Michael Vick? Redskins, 49ers, Raiders, Dolphins?
Former star quarterback Michael Vick has been conditionally reinstated by the NFL. Now that it appears that the league will allow Vick to play, the next big question is: Who will sign Michael Vick?
There are many NFL teams interested in Michael Vick due to his speed and mobility. Still, many teams might not want to deal with Vick and all the media attention that he is likely to attract.
That being said, here is a list of teams that may sign Michael Vick.
Washington Redskins: Perhaps the strongest Vick rumor involves the Redskins. Vick has reportedly been seen in the Washington, DC area.
San Francisco 49ers: Most Michael Vick rumors seems to have him going to the 49ers. A Michael Vick-49ers deal could make sense since the team plans on using a run-first offense this season, which might help Vick gain some confidence as he works off the rust on his passing game.
Oakland Raiders: The Raiders have struggled at the QB spot over the years. JaMarcus Russell has yet to prove himself as a legitimate starter and veteran Jeff Garcia is well past his prime. The Raiders have a history of picking up castoffs with image problems and turning them into winners. Maybe the Raiders will be able to do that with Vick.
Miami Dolphins: The quick quarterback might be a good fit for their "Wildcat" formation, which requires a good running QB.
Denver Broncos: The team swapped unhappy quarterback Jay Cutler to Chicago for the inconsistent Kyle Orton. If Orton disappoints, Broncos owner Pat Bowlen might take a chance on Vick.
Jacksonville Jaguars: The team has been in the doldrums for a while. Maybe the addition of Vick could provide a boost of energy and help the team grab the national spotlight.

Yeah, he may be a good player and some team may want him, but I'm still getting over the shock that the NFL is allowing him back. Betting on dogfights...this is what he did--your story did not mention what the incriminating evidence was.
at 13:06 on July 29th, 2009
He bet on dogfights, and he served his time, there are plenty of professional players who go out and go hunting during the off season nobody has a problem with that, just because you use a bunch of cruel adjectives when talking about dog fighting and do not use the same adjectives when talking about hunting the end result is the same an innocent animal dies for no reason other than personal enjoyment. Get over it, or start protesting that every player that hunts should now be suspended from play. This is the NFL not PETA

yea unbelievable how could they let someone that killed dogs back in the NFL ! only if you kill people they should let you back ! you people make no sense, let the man play ball ya bunch of haters.

Yes what Michael Vick done was wrong and a bad thing to do to any animal. However there is alot of athlets in every sport that has committ crimes in some way or fashion. Some worse than others. But I still think we should give the man a second chance. How many of us have done things in our lives that we wished we had someone to give us a second chance? I know I have. And yes he committed a felony and he was punished and he still is being punished for he what he done and will be for the rest of his life in some way. But we are not the one to place judgement on him or anyone else. There is a higher power that we all have to answer to. As far as putting Vick with a mentor to bad Tony Dungy is not coaching. But I do think that Joe Gibbs would be a great person to have as a mentor and help Vick get his life back together. Everyone needs a second chance so lets give him one.

get over it !!! he did his punishment, move on people !! D. Stallworth killed a man and you pathetic jerks could care less !!! where are the cries for justice in that case ??? FYI... Vick is in discussion with the Redskins as we speak. deal coming by Friday....

You are exactly right! America has got it twisted! Where is the real crime here! They are dogs! Period! I'm from NYC and dog fighting is a pastime! You would think with all the homeless in this country these witch hunts wouldn't exist! Its sad that people cheer on this mans demise! God forbid we get invaded by another country! You people that start these animal rights groups are off your rockers! You should be on the front lines to get rid of you idiots! Mo money, Mo money, Mo money! I cannot wait to purchase my new Vick shirt! I will wear it even if it is a Redskin jersey and thats blasphemy for me being a Cowboy fan! I was hoping Jerry would snatch him up and get rid of Romo! TO took care of that though! We donot want anymore negative press in Big "D"! After this season it will be all water under the bridge and you chumps will have to find a new fight! Case and point! In India cows are sacred! Here they are steaks! In Thailand dogs and cats along with rats are on the menu! Here they are beloved pets! Please! I'm a dog owner and a human life has no bearing whatsoever in realtion to any animal! If you were on a deserted island that dog,cat or whatever would be food! Get your priorities right! People that I grew up with did not have dogs because they like pitbulls! They had them for Friday night at the dog fights! Its sometimes a $5000 dollar buy in before your dog even fights! Its recreation for folks! The colisseum in Rome was built to watch men rip themselves to shreds! Same principle without the loss of human life! It should be on FX or TNT! It would make millions! My dogs are rotties! A true bred rottie is king of the ring! You better believe it!

Micheal Vick lost a whole lot in the last couple of years. Get OFF HIS BACK.
He paid his debt to society. What he did was not the best and it was not the worst in the world. If I was a owner, I would not be scared of PETA or anybody else. Sign him and move on !
at 11:22 on July 28th, 2009
Society is very unfair on how they view certain situations. Michael Vick was convicted and served his time, but yet he is still paying for it through the NFL commish, the media, and ignorent people. what is the point of locking someone up, if they have to pay for their actions even after they are released. Any team that gets Vick, will not be taking a chance, they will be getting a determined, ready to prove himself, super-athlete. I wonder if Peyton Manning was found guilty of this same thing, would he have gotten the same treatment? Donovan Mcnabb was dragged through the mud because he stated he didn't know the NFL could have a tie game. The Media and some fans, honestly don't want a black man running a NFL team. The Quaterback position represents leadership and the ability to win games. Something that any race could do, but since Vick is who he his, people question his character. the same guy who never got in trouble before this incident. I say we move on, let him play and put this behind us. He served his time. Remember, he killed a dog, not a person. Stallworth killed a person, and didn't serve 1 year, while Vick did Two. Why is that? because of his popularity and the position he played.
at 13:55 on July 28th, 2009
Manning wouldn't be that stupid. stupid.
at 12:20 on July 28th, 2009
Vick did his time and deserves a chance to prove what he learned.. He has talked with and plans on helping the humane society and starting programs to help youth stay away from dog fighting. It sounds to me like he learned his lesson and he is the most entertaining player in the league. So let him play and entertain and make alot of money and then he can use some of it to help other animals!! Dont be a HATER look at the positives!

49ers? Ah, no.

That's been out there for almost 2 months.
Seahawks or Raiders? Ah, no. They've also said they're out.

The Vikes will get over their heartbreak over the Farve courtship that went down in flames, and rebound with a new found obsession with Vick.

He can still get a job, he has a college education, he is not helpless but should not be allowed to play football. He commited a felony, felons should'nt be treated like stars and paid millions regardless of their talent. If I commited a felony I would have my dental licence revoked and not able to do the job that I love. If you do bad things and commit a felony, then you get to be treated like a felon. Michael Vick is not the only person who can play football, in 5 years who will care about him.
at 20:27 on August 4th, 2009
If you were a felon and is white which you probably are. you would not lose your job because youll gets away with everything. Everytime it comes to something a black man done its so wrong. Lets face it this crime wasnt started by black men, so do you know how many of your color is doing the same thing? Will you look at them the same way? As long as God forgive him what you or anybody else say dont matter.
Who are you to judge?
at 05:36 on August 9th, 2009
Well that is unless you are a US Senator. Congress has more felons than the NFL does. Not only that, they can act criminally within the law. What does Congress need 2 extra gulfstream jets for their travel? Would it not be more economical if they got a coach seat like the rest of us instead of flying on a Gulfstream private executive jet at the taxpayer's expense?
at 17:37 on July 28th, 2009
OK somebody tell me the difference between dogfighting and deer hunting or duck hunting or fishing or whale hunting should i go on.... besides the fact that you can eat most of them...Get off his case for Gods sake you negative people probably have kicked a dog or cat or something worse! You cant stand that hes among the greatest! Its not like he killed a human! This is one of the lingering contradictions that haunt America, because of ignorant people and their love for animals rather than transfering that love to another HUMAN being that actually has a soul!

Go Redskins. Sign Vick.
at 11:17 on July 29th, 2009
At the end of the day, Michael Vick is not worse than any other sports figure has committed immoral and illegal acts. He served his time and acted accordingly during his probation. Let the man move on and start his life over.
at 14:59 on July 29th, 2009
I agree but.... It is cruel to watch dogs attack dogs, and see one or more die. People who get involved in dogfighting see this activity just as a "game" and they bet on who will win a dogfight. Dogs die--as dog tamers or dog owners, we are the ones that are responsible for their deaths. Michael Vick devalued the lives of dogs by being so involved with illegal dogfighting. My point that I was trying to make at the start was not about him "having done his time" or at all racially motivated. I was just questioning the legitimacy of him working in a gaming environment again.

America always loves the black knight (the bad guy) and the white knight (the good guy).
A lot of people may even hate Michael Vick, but those same people will be the first to come to the game. Vick would add excitement and energy. He will increase revenues. Some may even think he is a cinderella story and not the bad guy. Vick has millions of fans!
Let the man play and give us a lot to talk about. God Bless!
at 21:52 on August 5th, 2009
Ok first don't bring race into it that's bull. Don't go around saying only blacks get arrested. You never hear of federal agents trying to infiltrate black street gangs yet they try to get into every white motorcycle club. Ok now onto vick. Really people come on I love my dog and feel like he's a part if the family but get over it it was just a dog. He paid his debt to society. He paid more than is share no other person in history has got that harsh a sentence for dog fighting. They made an example out of him plain in simple. And hey dental dude who cares if you couldn't clean teeth with a felony. That is the trade that you picked and that comes with it. Do you think an electrician shouldn't be able to practice his trade after being released on a felony conviction? He's playing football not trying to be a police officer. If your company says you can work with a felony on your record than by all means you should be able to. And vicks employer (NFL) said he could so shut up and quit caring abbout him. Most of you are just pissed because he is a felon and will be making more money than you well guess what that's life get used to it.
at 08:42 on August 7th, 2009
Every one keeps saying that vick should not be allowed in the nfl. What Michael Vick did was very wrong and bad but he appoligized and payed the price. Michael Vick should be fully reinstated and allowed into the Nfl. They let Pacman Jones back in the Nfl and he was involved in an incident that made a man go paralize. Let him back in and give him another chance.
at 12:22 on August 7th, 2009
Broke the law, did his time, now its back to work. Everybody just get over it. Don't like it, don't watch him play. that simple.
at 12:28 on August 7th, 2009
Did a crime, did his time so who cares if he goes back to football? And why are all yall so worried anyway. Ain't none of yall payin tha man. Get off his stick and het him be..
at 16:14 on September 8th, 2009
AAH! What a crock of absolute s@#%!!!! Yeah Michael Vick is "taking this seriously", because HE GOT CAUGHT and he has to act sorry if he wants to play!!!! Are the people running the NFL absolute retards? They must be. There is NO accountability in the NFL. Apparently you can commit any heinous act short of MURDER and get away with it. I have lost ALL hope in this organization. "I'm sorry" is not acceptable. He is a monstrous killer and a few Kumbaya sessions will Tony Dungy does not change that.
