Rafael Nadal beat Roger Federer in a classic semi-final match at the 2012 Australian Open. The match took place on Thursday, January 26, 2012 and many of us in North America missed the match since it began at 3:30 ET. It was our loss as Nadal beat Federer 6-7 (7-5) 6-2 7-6 (7-5) 6-4 in 3h 42m.

Nadal will meet the winner of the next semi-final between Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray. If Nadal wins the 2012 Australian Open, it will mark his 11th Grand Slam title.

Federer dominated the first 20 minutes of the match. The Spaniard clawed his way back into the match and eventually earned the victory.
