Will Smith References "Boom Goes The Dynamite" at The 2009 Oscars
Those watching the 2009 Oscars may have been perplexed by movie star Will Smith. While presenting an award, Smith flubbed a line and shouted "Boom Goes the Dynamite." The apparent non sequitur was a shout-out to "Boom Goes The Dynamite", a classic viral video.
The video features Brian Collins, a student at Ball State University who agreed to fill in as a sports anchor on a student-run TV newscast. Collins flubs and stumbles his way through the broadcast. While trying to recap a Indiana Pacers basketball game, he uses the phrase "Boom Goes the Dynamite."
Collins' awkward performance became an instant viral video hit, earning him appearances on the CBS Early Show and the Late Show with David Letterman (like Collins, Letterman attended Ball State University).
None of that attention, however, can top being referenced during the Academy Awards by one of the biggest movie stars in the world.

LOVE this, it was so funny when Will Smith said this! I even saw it on another blog, too. Cracked me up: http://thepopfix.com/2009/02/26/boom-goes-the-dynamite-is-relevant-again/
