Andy Murray took the first set, but Roger Federer then took control. After a 40-minute rain delay during the third set, the match continued under a closed roof.
Playing at the top of his game, Roger Federer dominated the match.
A tearful Andy Murray kept it classy: "Congratulations Roger. You deserve it. Thanks to everyone who supported me. You did a great job. And last of all to you guys [in the audience]. Everybody always talks about the pressure of playing at Wimbledon, but it's not the people watching: they make it incredible."
Roger Federer said of his opponent, "Andy will at least win one Grand Slam."
