ANDY MURRAY - BEST SHOT EVER

Temperatures are rising at Wimbledon not just due to the weather but the play too with the prospect of an all Williams womens final a possibility and Britain's own Andrew Murray in scorching form as he gets ready to play Nadal in the quarter final.

A total of 50 people fainted at SW19 because of the heat and not drinking enough water and were treated by St John's Ambulance. None required hospital treatment.

Spokesman Mike Gibbons said: "People don't like to leave the tennis when a good match is going on, but they should make sure they've got enough water to drink.

"Both young and old were affected and we helped people in difficulties on a number of different courts - there wasn't one particularly bad sun trap."

Thanks LotusFlower. I take it the strawberries and cream are failing to hydrate?

It was very hot on Court 1 during the first days play at Wimbledon in the unshaded sections of the crowd.

We saw at least one person being attended too during the long Hewitt-Haase match. I guess British tennis fans get carried away and are unprepared when Wimbldeon isn't affected by rain!

Taken on the first Friday of Wimbledon 2006 at Centre Court. As the sun gets lower it eventually catches only one small corner of the crowd. I didn't notice the two women (sisters?) staring straight at the camera until I got home. They must be wondering who is the weirdo with the camera. Sorry if this is you.
