Wine'tastic Mile renamed "The Crush'tastic Mile" for O's Slugger
July 5, 2013 - The Wine'tastic Mile of Baltimore will be renamed The Crush'tastic Mile #19 for the months of July & August to honor the Baltimore Orioles slugger Chris "Crush" Davis.
Davis is the MLB home-run leader with 32 long balls. He has become a fan favorite with the Orioles along with center fielder Adam Jones.
Chris earlier this season was honored with a t-shirt night at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. The t-shirt and the "Crush" nickname have become the talk of the O's fans.
He is the American League leading vote-getter at first base with over 5.5 million votes. Prince Fielder of the Detroit Tigers is second on the list with more than 2 million votes behind Davis.
Davis is second to only triple-crown king (2012) Miguel Cabrera of the Detroit Tigers for most all-star votes in the American League.
Derrick E. Vaughan of Dunkadelic Sports Marketing says, "Chris Davis is one of the best stories for the 2013 baseball season. Having another emerging star along with Adam Jones will make the O's that much more of a draw at home and on the road. The "Crush" nickname, his powerful swing, and handsome looks will make him very marketable and one of the most popular faces in the game for the next 7-10 years".
The Wine'tastic Mile is the new name given to the 1.3 mile corridor that runs from Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. and Pratt Street to Harbor East. It's the most popular stretch of road in downtown Baltimore.
