Wing Bowl 2010: Super Squibb Wins, Snookie Attends
Wing Bowl 2010 in Philadelphia was a doozy today with competitor 'Super Squibb' defending his championship title by eating 238 wings in 30 minutes, only three off the record mark set by professional eater Joey Chestnut.
Wing Bowl 18, a WIP 610 event, did lack drama, as the second-place finisher 'Not Rich' polished off only 145 wings, way off Squibb's pace. Squibb topped his last year's performance by 35 wings, nearly a 15% increase.
The Wing Bowl has been held on the Friday before the Super Bowl since 1993, but this is only the second year that the event was amateur only; no pro eaters allowed to enter the competition.
To class up Wing Bowl 2010, Snookie from The Jersey Shore was on hand to survey the competition. While she didn't compete, she did speak with reporters and ride a mechanical bull.
