Winnipeg Is Coming Back to the NHL. Fans Celebrated on May 30, 2011. Here Is Some Video

It's official: the Winnipeg Jets are coming back to the NHL for the 2011-2012 season. Well, they may not be called the Winnipeg Jets, but that's another story for another day. Today is a day for the people of Winnipeg to celebrate the return of the NHL. On May 31, 2011, NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman officially announced that the Atlanta Thrashers are moving to Winnipeg.

Fans came out in force to celebrate the Winnipeg NHL news. Throngs of fans gathered outside the MTS Centre, the future home of the Winnipeg Jets, or whatever they're going to be called.

No doubt the return of the NHL is going to bring back plenty of good memories for the people of Winnipeg: memories of guys like Dale Hawerchuk, Morris Lukowich and Pokey Reddick.
