In the Winter Classic 2010 game that took place today at Fenway Park, Boston Bruins player Marco Sturm scored the winning goal at 1:57 in overtime giving the Bruins the win over the Flyers in the 3rd annual Winter Classic game. The final score was 2 to 1.

Mark Recchi scored the tying goal with just 2:12 remaining giving the game the chance to go in to overtime.

Boston goalie Tim Thomas stopped Daniel Briere on a break-in and the Flyers missed two big scoring chances just before Sturm scored.

38,112 people attended the game at Fenway Park, where temperatures were around 39 degrees.

The game had the distinction of featuring the first outdoor NHL fight between Dan Carcillo and Shawn Thornton.
